Austria is a latecomer as far as the promotion of the inflow of foreign business people is concerned. While Austria has a long history of migration, going back to the early 1960s, the focus has always been on satisfying immediate labour demand. This study describes the transformation of migration regulations and the recent emergence of policies to promote the inflow of foreign business people to Austria
