Since its launch in 2020, the MAD Conference has been a space for scholars, creators, and industry professionals to connect, share ideas, and explore the cutting edge of media, arts, and design. Every year, the conference brings together academic research, creative projects, and new technologies to push boundaries and inspire new ways of thinking. *MAD (MEDIA, ARTS AND DESIGN) ANTHOLOGY III: What if we can be heroes, just for one day?* is the third edition of the MAD Conference anthology series, featuring the proceedings of MAD Conference 2024. Held online on May 4, 2024, the conference was primarily organized and hosted by the University for Continuing Education Krems, Austria, and Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA, with support from numerous researchers and the broader MAD community, bringing together the latest ideas and research in media, arts, and design. This year’s discussions focus on AI, blockchain, digital surveillance, game design, digital ethics, virtual worlds, assistive technology, speculative and experimental media, media and social issues, art and aesthetic experience, and interactive storytelling. These themes reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the MAD Conference, combining technology, creativity, and social impact, with a strong emphasis on how individuals can drive meaningful change through innovation. Now in its third edition, this book captures the most exciting contributions from MAD 2024, making it a valuable resource for researchers, students, and anyone interested in how technology and creativity shape our world. Whether you're a researcher, student, or simply curious about the future of media and design, this is an essential resource for exploring new ideas and innovations.
