</lom:title>

<lom:description>

<lom:langstring xml:lang="en">The human fascination with the apocalypse did not circumvent the medium of video games. Moreover, in the realm of video games, few themes have such cultural resonance as the end of days and the post-apocalypse. This article explores the portrayals of environmental collapse and the tension between humanity and technology in three notable examples: Fallout Series, Cyberpunk 2077, and Death Stranding. These games share the setting in a post-apocalyptic world where the, on one hand, environment, and technology clash with each other, and on the other hand, the symbiosis between nature and technology also serves as the means for overcoming the post-apocalyptic difficulties. The article will focus on both narratives and ludological aspects of games, to analyze in which ways modern video games deal with the everlasting dread of the apocalypse and technological overreach.</lom:langstring>
